The great irony of this is that you would think he would have this ideal because he truly believes in it.  Loki has never really known freedom, not in a the true sense of the word.  Not on Asgard, the place he called home.  Only when he fell into that cosmic void was he ever really free, and free only because his responsibilities - to his family, his friends, the House of Odin - had all been forsaken.  Forsaken because of his own actions and the actions of those he loved and trusted.  And then he comes back from this abyss, to Midgard, preaching that subjugation and order is the only way for any creature to know true peace because I feel that some inner part of him longs for order, for his life to have semblance again.  He longs for peace but lashes out in chaos because he doesn’t see himself as redeemable, he basically said as much and acted as such during his final battle with Thor, “It’s too late”.  Only he believes he’s too far gone to see that it isn’t too late, and what Loki wills himself to believe becomes fact to him (example: he willingly dropped into the cosmic vortex, yet in The Avengers he claims Thor tossed him into it; he’d convinced himself that the deed was not his doing).

God of lies, indeed.

Truth be told, it’s quite obvious Loki wasn’t even a bit interested in being the ruler of midgard. He just wanted to be a king, in a position of power to be respected the way he never was in Asgard, always on his brother’s shadow, even if Loki himself had talents Thor wouldn’t dream of possessing.

He planned it all out. His speech, what we would use to get into the midgardians’ minds, the power he would have, the enemies he would have to face, even the lie the would repeat himself so that he would recover from his emotional instability to not be weak and be able to fight his enemies without any doubt in his mind. There had to be black and white, no grey places in his mind.

I just love how deep the whole fandom goes into this. Really, it’s eyeopening <3

The other night I was Skyping with one of my best friends. She lives in Holland and I live in America, so we don’t get to talk often. I trust her so much, and every time we talk I just feel so loved. She’s amazing.

I was talking to her about cutting, and started telling her about how I sometimes take pictures of my self-harm instead of writing about it, or in addition to writing about it. I don’t normally show people the pictures, but I sent her a few. She had been sharing her screen with me because I’d been watching her draw something, so I saw when she opened the files.

She opened this picture, kept it on the screen for a few seconds, closed it, and opened it again in Photoshop. I watched, confused, thinking it had been an accident.

I watched quietly while she erased every line of blood, every scar, every cut from my body. I started recording the screen without thinking- I needed to be able to watch it again. I knew I would need to feel that sense of… relief. That there was someone in my life who knew the extent of me and could still see through to something beautiful.

I wanted to share this with you because I think it’s important. If you feel anything close to how I felt when I saw this, I’m happy. Because you should know that it’s possible to be loved, underneath the pain and the scars and the blood. We are all beautiful.

You’re beautiful, and above all, you are not alone.

This is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen on Tumblr. I’m crying so hard right now.
